FROM THE COMMANDER, Jerald Kobler:   It looks like winter is over and I’m sure glad; seems like I grow to dislike winter more every year.  Like the weather, running this Post has its ups and downs, but mostly ups and that is due to the great people that work here and the wonderful members and Post officers.  As always, a special thanks goes out to the Ladies and Men’s Auxiliaries who work tirelessly beside us.  Some things would not be possible without them.  Again, I say THANK YOU!
Don’t forget nominations for officers will be on April 26 and May 10, with the vote taking place on May 10.  If you are interested in being an officer or have a favorite candidate, please be at both meetings.  Everyone is welcome to attend; you must bring your paid membership card to participate in the election.
Our Turkey Shoot season is over.  Not as much participation as we would like and I am partially to blame for that as my schedule did not allow for the time.  The shoots were hosted by Bobby Raines and Dan Shelby .  It is a long season and being there every Saturday is time consuming.  That you Bobby and I’ll try to do better next year.
Don’t forget to participate in the meat cooks when we have them.  We are lucky to have such great cooks as Bill (Bronco) Deaton and Jim (Tapper) Gulledge.  They sure do kick out some great eats.
     Thanks to all VETERANS!

RITUAL TEAM:   We are in need of a bus driver or a truck driver with a CDL.  If you are interested in getting your CDL and will commit to driving our bus for funeral services, we will pay for it.  Anyone interested in joining the Ritual Team contact Chuck Knapp at 969-4230 or Larry Largent at 983-5515.

LADIES AUXILIARY:    Election of officers will be held at our May meeting (5/13).  All members and officers are urged to attend.  We need all of our sisters attendance at all of our meetings.
District meeting is Saturday, May 1 at Murphysboro Post 7190.  All officers and members are encouraged to attend.  Our attendance at District meetings is getting critical.  This gives you an excellent chance to meet your sisters from other District 15 Auxiliaries.  Joint meeting begins at 11:00 a.m.; individual meetings begin at 1:00 p.m.  Lunch is served at noon.
