Junior Girls Unit In The Herrin Fest Parade
Six of the Jr. Girls who collected for Buddy Poppies at
Marion Wal-Mart on Friday evening, May 9th from 6 to 8 PM.
The girls collected $326.00. Kay Shew, Co-Chairman of the Jr. Girls, accompanied the girls.
On April 18 & 19, 2008, the Jr. Girls Unit went to the Jr. Girls State Conference in Bloomington. They arrived at the hotel on Friday evening and went to a bowling party and then to the hotel for a swimming and hot tub party.

The Jr. Girls Unit won 4 first place trophies in Legislative, Community Service, Hospital and Nursing Home and Publicity. They won one second place trophie in Americanism and one third place trophie in Veterans and Family Services.
Amanda Root of the Jr. Girls Unit won the Coloring Contest sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary and was awarded a $25 Gift Certificate from Toys R Us. Her picture will be sent to the State Level and
she could possibly be a winner there also.
